bb-8-desert-round-rug-star-wars-chair-mat
BB-8 Desert Round Rug - Star Wars Chair Mat

This Star Wars round rug puts BB-8 at the center of a desert medallion, the little droid parked on pale dunes beneath a navy sky and two small moons. Everything around him is laid out for the circle: rings of Rebel crests, X-wings, gears and dune vignettes repeat in a mandala rhythm out to a black and gold border.

A circle changes how a room reads. It softens square corners, tucks under a desk chair and gives a reading nook a clear center. Here the shape is the whole point, because BB-8 is a sphere and the medallion echoes him all the way out.

The Design: Dunes and Droid Medallion

The artwork looks like a watercolor study inked onto an illuminated manuscript page. Warm ivory parchment, deep navy, burnt orange, sand and antique gold carry the palette, and the orange stripes on BB-8 pick up the orange of the Rebel starbirds in the ring around him. Four large BB-8 body panels sit at the diagonals, small droid heads peek from round windows, and X-wings hang in diamond frames like tiles from a desert palace ceiling.

Look closer and the dune circles repeat the scene from the center, each with its own tiny moon. Gold gear cogs fill the gaps between them. The outer border switches to black with gold scrollwork, compass stars and orange discs, so the rug has a crisp edge against any floor. Fans of the saga can find more of the series among the other Star Wars rugs in the shop.

BB-8 on the Floor

The surface is a soft plush low pile that feels pleasant underfoot and keeps the fine gold linework sharp. Colors are applied by dye-sublimation, so the print is set into the fibers instead of sitting on top. A non-slip rubber backing grips hard floors, and the whole rug is machine washable on a gentle cold cycle, then air-dried.

Slid under a desk or gaming chair, the low pile makes a tidy chair mat. At larger diameters it becomes a round area rug for the middle of a living space. The smaller sizes make a bold accent rug beside a bed or a bookshelf. As a gaming room rug, it gives the setup a floor piece with a story, and the navy and orange sit well next to monitor glow.

Sizes & Rug Level

Six diameters are available: 80 cm (31.5″), 100 cm, 120 cm, 140 cm, 160 cm and 180 cm (70.9″).
