nerv-medallion-round-rug-evangelion-chair-mat
NERV Medallion Round Rug - Evangelion Chair Mat

A half red leaf sits at the heart of a cream disc, its left side left blank and its right side drawn in rust-red veins, and the whole scene is set like stone inlay. This Evangelion round rug is laid out for the circle: eight lances, crescent moons, faceted crystals and eye-marked triangles repeat around the crest so the pattern holds up from every side. Nothing is cropped from a square.

Circles behave differently from rectangles on a floor. They soften the hard corners of a desk area, tuck under a swivel chair without fuss, and give a bedside a clear focal point that does not crowd the walkway. Here the pattern asks to be seen from above, so a spot in front of a shelf or beneath a chair suits it well.

The Design: Inlaid Crest in Rust

The look borrows from pietra dura tabletops and illuminated manuscripts rather than from a standard poster pose. The ground is a warm parchment cream with a faint aged mottling. Around the crest runs a scalloped ring of orange octagon beads edged in black and gold, and beyond it a dark border carries red leaves and more orange beads on twisting vines. Four-pointed stars mark the compass points, while dark red crystals and crescent moons fill the gaps between them. The triangles hold small clusters of eyes, a quiet and slightly uneasy detail that fans of the series will spot at once. Four red double-pronged lances run along the diagonals, each one a thin line of color pointing back toward the center. The palette stays tight: rust, vermilion, tangerine, black, antique gold and cream.

Instead of a bold character portrait, this piece treats the series like heraldry. If that angle appeals, more Evangelion rugs in the shop take other routes through the same world.

NERV Medallion on the Floor

The surface is a soft plush low-pile that feels pleasant underfoot and keeps the printed detail crisp. Colors go on by dye-sublimation, which sets them into the fibers instead of leaving them on top, so the thin gold vines and tiny eyes stay sharp. Underneath, a non-slip rubber backing grips hard floors such as wood, tile and laminate. Care is simple, because the rug is machine washable on a gentle cold cycle followed by air-drying. Slide it beneath a desk and it works as a chair mat for a study or streaming setup. The larger diameters turn it into a round area rug that anchors a seating group. In a den or loft it also makes a strong gaming room rug.

Sizes & Rug Level

Six diameters are available: 80 cm (31.5″), 100 cm (39.4″), 120 cm (47.2″), 140 cm (55.1″), 160 cm (63.0″) and 180 cm (70.9″). The 80 and 100 cm sizes fit under a desk chair or beside a bed, where they work as a compact accent rug. Choose 120 or 140 cm for a reading nook or a quiet corner of a bedroom. Go to 160 or 180 cm when the medallion should be the center of a seating area, since the bead ring and the border need room to be read.

Two levels are offered. Standart Level is solid everyday quality for desks and bedrooms. Premium Level adds a thicker, plusher pile and a more durable backing, which suits a busier spot.

Quick Questions

Is it machine washable?

Yes. Use a gentle cold cycle and air-dry it; the print is set into the fibers, so the cream ground and the red leaf stay put.

Does it slip on hard floors?

No, the rubber backing grips wood, tile and laminate, so the crest stays centered under a chair or beside a bed.

Can I put it over carpet?

Yes, it lies flat over low-pile carpet, which is handy if you want the medallion to sit on top of a larger neutral rug.

Which size should I choose?

Pick 100 cm for a desk chair, 140 cm for a nook, and 180 cm if the crest should anchor the whole room.
