ryuk-apple-round-rug-death-note-chair-mat
Ryuk Apple Round Rug - Death Note Chair Mat

This Death Note round rug puts Ryuk dead center, wings spread wide, a red apple raised in one gray hand and that yellow-eyed grin aimed straight at you. The artwork is laid out for the circle, with a cream damask field in the middle and a black border ringed by apples. Skulls, chains, crescent moons and black notebooks repeat in a mirrored pattern around the shinigami.

A circle has no corners to crop, so every detail lands. Under a desk it frames Ryuk like a medallion. Beside a bed, it softens the straight lines of a square room.

The Design: Gothic Damask Frame

Most Ryuk art is a portrait on a flat backdrop. This one borrows from old engraved ornament instead. Feather-shaped scrolls curl outward from his shoulders like acanthus leaves, and the wings echo that rhythm so the figure grows out of the pattern rather than sitting on it. Four notebooks sit on the diagonals, crescent moons fill the gaps, and a small skull medallion marks each compass point.

The palette is tight: bone cream, charcoal black and one deep crimson that shows up in the apples, the thin outer ring and the fleur-de-lis under his boots. Ryuk himself is drawn in slate grays with a pale face, a feathered collar and a chain belt with a skull buckle. Look closer and you will spot what look like bitten apple cores in the red side frames, a quiet joke for fans. Anyone who wants a different take on the shinigami can browse other Death Note rugs in the same collection.

Ryuk on the Floor

Colors are set into the fibers by the dye-sublimation print, so the blacks stay deep and the crimson reads as part of the rug instead of a coating on top. The soft plush low-pile surface feels good under bare feet and keeps the fine scrollwork crisp. Underneath, a non-slip rubber backing grips hardwood, tile and laminate. Slide a desk chair over it and the rug works as a chair mat without any fuss. Spills and dust happen, and it is machine washable: gentle cold cycle, then air-dry. A dark, ornate gaming room rug like this ties together shelves of figures and a glowing monitor, though it is just as happy in a bedroom.

Sizes & Rug Level

Six diameters run from 80 cm (31.5″) to 180 cm (70.9″): 80, 100, 120, 140, 160 and 180 cm. The 80 and 100 cm sizes suit a spot under a desk chair or beside a bed, and either one works as an accent rug. Pick 120 or 140 cm for a reading nook or a corner of the room. At 160 and 180 cm it becomes a round area rug large enough to sit at the center of a seating area.

Two levels are available. Standart Level is solid everyday quality. Premium Level adds a thicker, plusher pile and a more durable backing, a good call for a spot with daily traffic.

Quick Questions

Is it machine washable?

Yes. Use a gentle cold cycle and air-dry it flat. Because the colors are printed into the fibers, the black and crimson stay part of the rug.

Does it slip on hard floors?

No. The rubber backing grips hardwood, tile and laminate, so Ryuk stays put under a desk or beside the bed.

Can I put it over carpet?

Yes, it lies flat over low-pile carpet. The dark border keeps the edge of the circle crisp against a lighter carpet.

Which size should I choose?

Choose 100 cm if you want all of Ryuk visible under a desk chair, 120 to 140 cm for a nook, and 160 to 180 cm if the rug is the centerpiece of the room. The wings spread wide, so the larger sizes show off the damask best.

A Dark Bedroom Statement

Death Note fans building a bedroom or gaming corner around black, white and red.

Collectors of gothic ornament who want it carried by a character, with the wider anime rug range close at hand for more ideas.

A gift for the friend who still quotes the series and keeps a red apple on the shelf.

Desk setups that need a finishing touch: pair the rug with a matching Death Note mouse pad for a full set.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0945/8830/5694/files/ryuk-apple-round-rug-death-note-chair-mat-3.webp?v=1792761762
