arthur-morgan-journal-round-rug-red-dead-chair-mat
Arthur Morgan Journal Round Rug - Red Dead Chair Mat

This Red Dead round rug opens a worn leather journal at the center of a copper-brown medallion, with a sketched horse on the left page and a stag against the mountains on the right. A battered felt hat and a pencil rest across the spread, and the whole artwork is laid out for the circle, with the scene spreading outward in rings.

A circle suits this piece because the journal sits dead center and every ring pulls your eye back to it. Slide a desk chair across it and it works as a chair mat that still looks like a keepsake. Beside a bed or in front of an armchair, it reads like a map table from a camp tent.

The Design: Frontier Field Notes

Think of it as a naturalist's notebook that grew a border. Around the medallion, pencil-sketched animals sit in scalloped cartouches: galloping horses, eagles with wings spread, bison, wolves, and trout leaping over small pine islands. Between them, two mountain lakes with a low sun and a pair of copper-red roundels with campfires keep the ring balanced. Pine sprigs, cones and feathers run along the outer edge. The palette is parchment cream, tobacco brown, burnt copper and sage green, so it feels aged and warm rather than loud. If the frontier mood is your thing, the shop has more Red Dead rugs in the same spirit.

Arthur Morgan Journal on the Floor

The surface is a soft plush low-pile that feels good under bare feet and stays out of the way of chair wheels. A non-slip rubber backing grips hardwood, tile and laminate, so the rug stays put where you place it. The print is dye-sublimation, which sets the colors into the fibers and keeps the pencil linework crisp. Care is simple, because the rug is machine washable on a gentle cold cycle, then air-dried. The round cut makes it a handy round area rug for a study, a bedroom or a den, and the smaller sizes double as an accent rug beside a bookshelf.

Sizes & Rug Level

Six diameters are available, from 80 cm (31.5″) up to 180 cm (70.9″). The 80 and 100 cm sizes fit under a desk chair or beside a bed. The 120 and 140 cm sizes suit a reading nook or a corner of a kids' room. At 160 to 180 cm, the journal becomes the center of a seating area. Two levels are on offer: Standart Level is solid everyday quality, while Premium Level adds a thicker, plusher pile and a more durable backing.

Quick Questions

Is it machine washable?

Yes. Use a gentle cold cycle and let it air-dry, and the printed sketches stay sharp.

Does it slip on hard floors?

No, the rubber backing grips hardwood, tile and laminate. A desk chair can roll across the top without dragging the rug along.

Can I put it over carpet?

Yes, it lies flat over low-pile carpet.
