cloud-mako-playmat-final-fantasy-mtg-mat
Cloud Mako Playmat - Final Fantasy MTG Mat

Cloud Strife reaches one gloved hand toward you while the Buster Sword hangs low in the other, and this Cloud MTG playmat catches him mid-step against a sky torn by mako lightning. Midgar's reactor towers lean in from both edges. Feathers drift past.

Most of the palette stays cool, navy and slate and ice blue, with a bright burst behind his head and a toxic-green glow pooling at the lower right. That split matters on the table: your lands sit over the calmer blue, and the green corner gives creatures a bit of a stage. Nothing fights his eyes for attention.

The Art: Mako Storm Blues

Thick indigo washes build the clouds in swirls, then hairline gold outlines run along his armor, belt and the blade's edge so the figure pops off the storm. The sword is huge here, filling the whole left corner with scratched steel and those two familiar holes near the hilt. Compared with clean promo-style Cloud art, this version feels rougher and wetter, like paint still drying. Fans of anime-style watercolor will get a lot out of the close detail on his face.

Cloud at the Table

At 24 x 14 in (60 x 35 cm), standard tournament size, it covers your full play area without spilling onto your opponent's side. Sleeves glide across the micro-fiber top and lift off cleanly when you tap or untap. A non-slip rubber base holds the mat steady even on a smooth folding table. Dye-sublimation printing locks the blues into the fabric, so they won't crack or fade with use.

With Zones or Without Zones

The MTG playmat with zones option adds light guides for library, graveyard, exile and command zone, along with battlefield lanes for lands and creatures. Commander players get a ready-made layout for EDH, and the same guides suit 60-card Standard or Modern. Choose without zones if you want nothing but the storm and the sword.

A Gift for Ex-SOLDIER Fans

Commander players who opened the Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy set and built a deck around Cloud

Final Fantasy VII veterans who played the 1997 original and the Remake series

Arena players moving to paper who want a mat with personality

Collectors of watercolor video game art
