gollum-crouching-round-rug-lord-of-the-rings-chair-mat
Gollum Crouching Round Rug - Lord of the Rings Chair Mat

Gollum crouches on a wet black rock, knees pulled up, pale eyes fixed on the gold ring he turns between his fingers. This Lord of the Rings round rug lays the whole scene out for the circle: a scalloped cave mouth frames him at the center, and a border of teal, deep green and gold wraps all the way around.

A circle suits a lonely figure like this. It softens the hard corners of a square room and gives him an island of his own in the middle of the floor, just as he sits in the middle of his underground lake. Tucked beside a bed or an armchair, it looks like a small window into the cave.

The Design: Cave Lake, Gold Rings

The artwork reads like an inked and watercolored page from an old storybook. Gollum is drawn in bone-gray and sickly green, hunched against slate rock, with stalactites hanging overhead and a shaft of pale light falling across the still water behind him. The mood is quiet and a little uneasy, which is exactly the point.

Around that central scene, a gold vine frame holds a ring of smaller pictures: a boat drifting under a full moon, pale fish turning in the dark, clusters of cave mushrooms, and four-point stars resting on rippling water. Small gold rings circle the outer rim, and teal wave swirls run between them. If this scene pulls you in, more Lord of the Rings round rugs show other corners of Middle-earth in the same spirit.

Gollum on the Floor

The surface is a soft plush low-pile that feels good underfoot and keeps the gold linework crisp. A non-slip rubber backing grips hardwood, tile and laminate, so the rug stays put when you step on it or pull a chair across it. The print is dye-sublimation, which sets the colors into the fibers instead of sitting on top of them. Spills and muddy socks are no drama, because the rug is machine washable.

Under a desk chair it works as a chair mat with a lot more character than a plain plastic sheet. As a gaming room rug it gives the dark teal palette a place to land beside screens and shelves. Quiet. Moody. Easy to live with.

Sizes & Rug Level

Six diameters are available, from 80 cm (31.5") to 180 cm (70.9"): 80, 100, 120, 140, 160 and 180 cm. The 80 and 100 cm sizes fit under a desk chair and work as an accent rug beside a bed. At 120 or 140 cm the border has room to show in a reading nook or a corner of the den. Go to 160 or 180 cm and it becomes a true round area rug that anchors a seating area.

Two quality levels are offered. Standart Level is solid everyday quality. Premium Level adds a thicker, plusher pile and a more durable backing for spots with heavy foot traffic.

Quick Questions

Is it machine washable?

Yes. Use a gentle cold cycle and let it air-dry, and the gold and teal will stay as deep as the day it arrived.

Does it slip on hard floors?

No. The rubber backing grips hard floors, so Gollum stays on his rock even when a desk chair rolls across the edge.

Can I put it over carpet?

Yes. It lies flat over low-pile carpet, and the dark cave scene stands out well against lighter flooring.

Which size should I choose?

Pick 80 to 100 cm for a desk or bedside, 120 to 140 cm for a nook, and 160 to 180 cm if the cave scene should sit at the center of the room.

A Gollum Corner Statement

Readers and rewatchers who keep the trilogy close and want the Gollum scene underfoot.

Desk setups where the rug sits under the chair, with a matching Ring mouse pad on the desk above it.

Collectors of film art who may also browse our movie rug collection for other scenes.

A gift for someone who knows exactly what he whispers to that ring.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0945/8830/5694/files/gollum-crouching-round-rug-lord-of-the-rings-chair-mat-3.webp?v=1792792851
