thorfinn-crouching-round-rug-vinland-saga-chair-mat
Thorfinn Crouching Round Rug - Vinland Saga Chair Mat

This Vinland Saga round rug puts Thorfinn dead center, crouched low with a dagger in each hand and a hard stare aimed straight out of the circle. The artwork is laid out for the round cut: a braided gold knot band frames him, and a Norse border of longships, shields, wheat and farmhouses runs all the way to the rim.

A circle softens a square room. Under a desk chair it lets the wheels glide over the border without catching a hard edge, and beside a bed it gives bare feet a place to land. Thorfinn's low stance suits a spot you walk around.

The Design: Norse Sea Medallion

The style is inked anime linework over a warm, parchment-like texture, so the whole piece reads like an illuminated page from an old saga. Deep navy and tan gold carry most of the surface, with cream skies, pale sea foam and small touches of rust brown in the shields and Thorfinn's boots. His hair is the brightest thing in the circle. Your eye lands there first.

Look past the center and the rim keeps rewarding you. Longships sail under snowy peaks at the top and bottom, a thatched farmhouse sits on each side, and wheat sheaves hint at the quiet farm life the story keeps returning to. Round shields, crossed blades, crescent moons and compass stars fill the gaps between them. If you like to build a set, you can browse other Vinland Saga rugs in the shop, but this one stays with the crouching pose and the crashing sea.

Thorfinn on the Floor

The shape is a true circular cut, so there are no corners to trip on and no artwork lost at the edge. The surface is a soft plush low pile that feels gentle underfoot and still lets a chair roll across it. Underneath, a non-slip rubber backing grips hardwood, tile and laminate.

Cleaning is simple, because the rug is machine washable on a gentle cold cycle and then air-dried. The dye-sublimation print sets the colors into the fibers instead of sitting on top, so the navy and gold stay deep wash after wash. Slid under a desk, it works as a chair mat with far more personality than a plain plastic one. In a gaming room it becomes a gaming room rug that quietly says what you are watching and playing.

Sizes & Rug Level

Six diameters are available, from 80 cm (31.5″) up to 180 cm (70.9″), at 80, 100, 120, 140, 160 and 180 cm. The 80 and 100 cm sizes fit under a desk chair or beside a bed, and the small ones make a bold accent rug. The 120 and 140 cm sizes suit a reading nook or a corner of a teen's room, where the knot band and the longships have room to breathe. At 160 to 180 cm it works as a round area rug at the center of a seating area, with the sea waves spreading out around your coffee table.

Two levels are offered. Standart Level is solid everyday quality. Premium Level adds a thicker, plusher pile and a more durable backing for heavier traffic.

Quick Questions

Is it machine washable?

Yes. Use a gentle cold cycle and let it air-dry, and the Norse border keeps its deep blues and golds.

Does it slip on hard floors?

No. The rubber backing grips wood, tile and laminate, so Thorfinn stays put even when a desk chair rolls over his waves.

Can I put it over carpet?

Yes, it lies flat over low-pile carpet. Thick shag is the only floor where the edge may curl.

Which size should I choose?

Pick 80 to 100 cm for a desk or bedside, 120 to 140 cm for a nook, and 160 to 180 cm when the rug should anchor the room. The center medallion is detailed enough that a larger size really shows off the linework.

A Thorfinn Corner Statement

Vinland Saga fans who want the sea, the longships and Thorfinn on the floor instead of a poster.

Desk and gaming setups, where you can pair the rug with a matching Vinland Saga mouse pad to carry the same artwork onto the desk.

Anyone with a Norse history shelf or a bedroom full of manga, especially if you are already exploring the wider anime rug range.

A gift for the friend who finished the series and still talks about it.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0945/8830/5694/files/thorfinn-crouching-round-rug-vinland-saga-chair-mat-3.webp?v=1792780334
