unit-02-lance-round-rug-evangelion-chair-mat
Unit-02 Lance Round Rug - Evangelion Chair Mat

A red Evangelion unit stands braced at the center of this Evangelion round rug, its two-pronged lance planted beside it, all set inside a medallion you would expect on a Persian carpet. The artwork is laid out for the circle: an orange octagonal halo behind the figure, blue waves breaking at its feet, and a ring of cartouches repeating toward the edge.

A circle suits this piece because the pattern has no corners to lose. It softens a square room, fills the gap beside a bed, and sits neatly in front of an armchair. Slide it under a desk and it works as a chair mat that does not look like office gear.

The Design: Persian Carpet Meets Eva

Most mecha art goes for steel gray and neon. This one borrows from tilework and carpet weaving instead. The deep blue field is packed with curling vines, the red border runs with small blossoms and orange octagons, and four angular red masks sit at north, south, east and west like guardians. Between them, cream cartouches hold navy warships riding the swell, plus slim capsule shapes in red and silver. Eight-pointed stars fill every gap. Clusters of orange hexagons flank the pilot-less giant, a quiet nod to the barrier patterns fans remember. The palette stays tight: crimson, burnt orange, cobalt and parchment cream. If the series is your thing, browse other Neon Genesis Evangelion rugs to see how differently the same world can be drawn.

Unit-02 on the Floor

The cut is a true circle, so the medallion stays centered whichever way you walk in. The surface is a soft plush low-pile that feels good underfoot, and the dye-sublimation print sets the colors into the fibers, which keeps the reds deep instead of sitting on top like a coating. A non-slip rubber backing grips hard floors, which matters the moment a desk chair rolls across it. When it gets dusty or scuffed, it is machine washable on a gentle cold cycle, then left to air-dry. As a bedroom rug it adds a warm red anchor to neutral floors.

Sizes & Rug Level

Six diameters are available: 80 cm (31.5″), 100 cm, 120 cm, 140 cm, 160 cm and 180 cm (70.9″). The 80 and 100 cm sizes fit under a desk chair or beside a bed, where the central figure stays in view. Choose 120 or 140 cm for a reading nook or a corner by the shelves, and the smaller diameters also work as an accent rug. At 160 to 180 cm it becomes a round area rug for the center of a seating area, with the border ring showing in full.

Two levels are offered. Standart Level is solid everyday quality. Premium Level adds a thicker, plusher pile and a more durable backing for heavier traffic.

Quick Questions

Is it machine washable?

Yes. Use a gentle cold cycle and air-dry it, and the printed reds and blues stay set in the fibers.

Does it slip on hard floors?

No. The rubber backing grips wood, tile and laminate, so the medallion stays put even under a rolling chair.

Can I put it over carpet?

Yes, it lies flat over low-pile carpet.
