Two flappers lean in for a toast at the center of an oval frame, marcel waves and drop earrings against a sunburst of coral, jade and gold. This art deco mahjong mat runs on 1920s geometry, chevrons, fans and starbursts, with martini roundels set into each side. The gilded linework holds the whole scene together like a poster from the era.
On a set table it reads glamorous without shouting. The coral and teal push forward, gold traces the edges, and dark tiles pop against the lighter oval. First thing guests clock is the pair of women mid-clink; then the fan corners; then how neatly four racks sit inside all that symmetry.
The Art: Jazz-Age Toast
Composition is pure deco: a strong central oval, radiating diagonals, and repeated fan shapes anchoring the four corners. Coral and jade do the heavy lifting while gold keeps the edges sharp.
