Eowyn Sunrise Round Rug - Lord of the Rings Chair Mat

Éowyn stands at the center of this Lord of the Rings round rug, sword raised and green cloak sweeping behind her as a golden sun climbs over the fields of Rohan. The artwork is laid out for the circle: one central medallion, then ring after ring of white horses, plumed helms, horns and knotwork spiraling out to the edge.

A circle changes how a room reads. It softens square corners, gives a desk chair a place to sit and fills the bare patch in front of an armchair or a bookshelf. With its ring-within-ring structure, this piece looks best where the pattern can be seen from above, such as a study, a reading nook or a bedroom floor.

The Design: Rohan in Illuminated Gold

Picture a page from an illuminated manuscript rather than a movie poster. Deep forest green fills the field, gold outlines every leaf and vine, and ivory horses leap out of the dark. In the middle, the shieldmaiden wears mail and a green cloak, and her shield carries the white horse of Rohan. Behind her stand the golden halls of Edoras and a sunburst rising over the hills.

Around that scene the Rohirrim repeat in heraldic panels: crested helmets, curled drinking horns, small gold suns and galloping horses between loops of Celtic-style knotwork. Nothing here is a plain backdrop. Every ring tells you where she comes from. If one design leaves you wanting more of Middle-earth, you can browse more Lord of the Rings rugs in the same collection.

Éowyn on the Floor

The rug is cut in a true circle, so the medallion stays centered whichever way you walk in. Its soft plush low-pile surface feels gentle underfoot and lies flat, even over low-pile carpet. A non-slip rubber backing grips hard floors such as wood, tile and laminate. When dust or a spilled drink arrives, the rug is machine washable on a gentle cold cycle, then air-dried.

Colors are printed by dye-sublimation, which sets them into the fibers instead of leaving a coating on top, so the fine gold line work stays crisp. The calm green and gold palette makes it a quiet bedroom rug as much as a feature for a study or a hobby room.

Sizes & Rug Level

Six diameters are available, from 80 cm (31.5″) up to 180 cm (70.9″). The 80 and 100 cm sizes suit the space under a desk chair or the floor beside a bed. Pick 120 or 140 cm for a reading nook or a corner of a kids' room, where the horse border has room to show. The 160 and 180 cm sizes can anchor a seating area, and the full ring pattern reads like a banner under a coffee table.

Two quality levels are offered. Standart Level is solid everyday quality for regular use. Premium Level adds a thicker, plusher pile and a more durable backing, which is worth choosing for a busy hallway or a favorite chair spot.

Quick Questions

Is it machine washable?

Yes. Use a gentle cold cycle and let it air-dry; the dye-sublimation print is set into the fibers, so the green and gold stay put.

Does it slip on hard floors?

No. The rubber backing grips wood, tile and laminate, so the white horses stay where you placed them even when you roll a chair across the edge.

Can I put it over carpet?

Yes, as long as the carpet is low-pile. The rug lies flat and the round edge stays neat against the surface below.

Which size should I choose?

Choose 80 to 100 cm for a desk or bedside, 120 to 140 cm for a nook, and 160 to 180 cm when you want the medallion to be the center of the room. The wider the rug, the more of the knotwork border you will see.

A Rohan Statement

• Fans of Éowyn and the Rohirrim who want her sunrise moment underfoot instead of on a shelf.
• A study or reading nook where the manuscript-style border suits shelves of fantasy novels.
• A gift for someone who rewatches the trilogy every winter, especially if they like a more movie-inspired rug collection to browse for the rest of the house.
• A desk setup where a small accent rug warms up the floor, ideally paired with matching Lord of the Rings mouse pads for the tabletop.

Under a desk, the 80 or 100 cm size doubles as a chair mat with a hint of Rohan. Go up to 160 cm or more and it becomes a round area rug that gathers a whole seating area around the rising sun.
