The Art: A Marsh in Motion
Fresh and bright. Watercolor builds a tangle of green lily stems and round pads against a clear summer sky, gold linework edging the leaves and bubbles. The blue bodies and gray spiral bellies of the Poliwag crowd carry the whole scene, with the larger Poliwhirl anchoring the middle. A tiny green friend hides in the reeds for a second look. The mat measures 24 x 14 in (60 x 35 cm), standard tournament size, so a deck, discard pile, prize cards and active spot all fit among the reeds without crowding. Sleeved cards slide and lift clean off the micro-fiber surface. A non-slip rubber base holds steady through a fast turn or a reach across the table. Dye-sublimation sets color into the fabric, so the blues and greens survive weekly play and cleanups without cracking or fading.
