Our area rugs are available in the most popular standard sizes to fit any room:

Large8' × 10'240 × 300 cmLiving room, large bedroom
XL9' × 12'270 × 360 cmOpen floor plan, large living

We also offer runner rugs (2' × 6', 2' × 8', 2.5' × 10') and round rugs (4', 6', 8' diameter).

Our area rugs feature a premium soft polyester surface that's both plush underfoot and incredibly durable. The backing is made from synthetic leather that provides excellent grip without damaging floors. We offer two quality options: a glossy fabric surface for a sleek look, and a plush-style fabric for extra softness. Both are designed to withstand daily use while maintaining their appearance.

Our area rugs are machine washable for easy maintenance. Machine wash on a delicate cycle at 30°C (86°F) without bleach, then air dry flat. For spot cleaning, blot spills immediately with a clean cloth and mild soap solution. Regular vacuuming keeps fibers fresh between washes. Avoid high heat drying to preserve the backing integrity.

Yes, absolutely! Our synthetic leather backing is specifically designed to be floor-safe. It won't scratch, stain, or leave marks on hardwood, laminate, tile, or vinyl floors. The backing also provides natural grip without requiring a separate rug pad, though you can add one for extra cushioning if desired.

For living rooms, choose a rug large enough for at least the front legs of furniture to rest on it—typically 8' × 10' for standard rooms. For bedrooms, the rug should extend about 2-3 feet beyond each side of the bed. In dining rooms, ensure the rug extends 24" past the table so chairs remain on the rug when pulled out. Use painter's tape to visualize sizes before ordering.

Standard area rug orders are produced within 1-3 business days. Custom area rugs require an additional 2 business days for production. US shipping typically takes 5-10 business days, while international orders may take 10-20 business days. Large rugs ship rolled in protective packaging to prevent creasing during transit.

About This Collection

Area Rugs

Padloom area rugs are printed floor pieces for people who would rather look down at Guts in his Berserker armor, a sleeping Snorlax or a Studio Ghibli forest spirit glowing under the moon than at another beige rectangle. The collection holds more than 2,200 original fan-inspired designs across anime, video games, movies, cartoons, kids' themes, streetwear-inspired art and modern decor, and every area rug is made to order after you pick your size and quality level.

Rectangular designs come in five sizes from 2 x 3 ft (60 x 90 cm) up to 5 x 7 ft (150 x 214 cm), and more than 270 shaped rugs are cut to the outline of the artwork instead of a straight edge. Each design is offered in two builds: a thin, crisp Standard velvet rug that chair wheels glide across, and a thicker, cushioned Premium plush rug for bare feet. Both have a non-slip backing, so the rug stays where you put it on hardwood, tile or laminate.

This page is meant to work as a buying guide, not just a product grid. Below you will find a tour of the collection, practical advice on choosing the right area rug for your room, a size chart with placement tips, a plain comparison of Standard and Premium, and the care and shipping details you should know before you order.

What You'll Find in Our Area Rugs Collection

Because every rug is printed on demand, the range is far wider than a typical home store can stock. Think of it as a catalog of cool rugs grouped by fandom and mood. Here is how it breaks down.

Anime and Manga Area Rugs

Anime is the largest group, with more than 500 designs. Dark seinen fans can pick the Guts Berserker Armor Rug, the Miyamoto Musashi Bloodied Portrait Rug inspired by Vagabond or the Survey Corps Squad Rug from Attack on Titan. Shonen favorites include the Itachi Susanoo Rug from Naruto Shippuden, the Straw Hat Jolly Roger Rug from One Piece, the Maki Zenin Cursed Tool Rug from Jujutsu Kaisen, the Demon Slayer Corps Metsu Symbol Rug and the Mereoleona Flaming Fist Rug from Black Clover. For something calmer, the Forest Spirit Moonlight Rug and the Princess Mononoke Wolf Paw Rug bring Studio Ghibli greens and night blues into a room, while the NERV Distressed Industrial Rug and the Makima Control Art Rug lean graphic and moody. Browse the full range of anime and manga rugs to see every series.

Pokémon Rugs

More than 150 Pokémon designs sit in their own corner of the catalog. The Snorlax Forest Slumber Rug is a natural fit beside a bed, the Mewtwo Psychic Ruins Rug brings a darker purple palette, and the Gardevoir Nature Embrace Rug and the Love Ball Sylveon Rug go soft and pastel. Several Pokémon are also available as shaped rugs, including the Seated Lapras Rug, the Leaping Blaziken Rug and the Game Boy Charizard Rug.

Video Game Area Rugs

The gaming group counts more than 500 designs, from Soulsborne boss fights to cozy farming sims. Elden Ring fans have the Starscourge Radahn Meteor Rug, Bloodborne players can choose the Moon Presence Nightmare Rug, and the Darksign Eclipse Rug nods to Dark Souls. Warhammer 40k collectors will find the Imperial Aquila Crest Rug and the Sanguinius Angel Wings Rug, and World of Warcraft veterans get the Dark Portal Fel Gate Rug. Lighter picks include the Princess Zelda Wisdom Floral Rug, the Bowser Inferno Breath Rug, the Marx Cosmic Jester Rug from Kirby, the Prismatic Shard Mining Rug from Stardew Valley and the Ghost Trio Party Rug from Pac-Man. Competitive players can look at the Butterfly Knife Silver Elite Rug for CS2 or the Mordekaiser Death Realm Rug from League of Legends. See everything in our gaming rugs collection.

Movie, TV and Comic Book Rugs

Film and TV designs number more than 200. Harry Potter fans can choose between the Snowy Owl Magical Letter Rug and the Golden Snitch Vintage Quidditch Rug, the Stark Direwolf Winter Rug suits a Game of Thrones den, and the Revan Dual Force Rug covers the Star Wars side of the shelf. Comic readers will recognize the Loki God of Mischief Rug, the Green Lantern Power Construct Rug and the Atom Eve Energy Projection Rug from Invincible. Horror and cult classics are covered too, with the T-800 Endoskeleton Skynet Rug, the Beetlejuice Sandworm Rug and the Nevermore Academy Crest Rug from Wednesday. The full lineup lives under movie and pop culture rugs.

Funny Rugs and Cartoon Favorites

If you came here looking for funny rugs, start with the cartoons. The Peter vs Giant Chicken Fight Rug from Family Guy, the Tegridy Farms Randy Rug from South Park and the DoodleBob Sketch Rug from SpongeBob are the kind of floor pieces guests stop to point at. The Zombie Rick Morty Rug is a shaped design, the Mr. Burns Excellent Vintage Rug brings The Simpsons into a retro frame, and the Stitch Elvis Rug and the Pops Maellard Rug from Regular Show round out the lighter side.

Kids' Room and Nursery Rugs

More than 240 designs are made with children's rooms in mind. The Happy Sun Rainbow Rug, the Floral Bunny Garden Rug and the Vintage Steam Train Rug keep things bright and simple, while character picks include the Bluey Grannies Janet Rita Rug, the My Melody Strawberry Floral Rug, the Bugs Bunny Carrot Garden Rug and The King Dinoco Rug from Cars. Shaped animal rugs such as the Cow Rug and the Cute Tiger Rug make a playful landing spot next to a toddler bed.

Streetwear-Inspired and Hypebeast Rugs

More than 450 streetwear-inspired designs bring sneaker culture, graffiti, camo and bold graphic logos to the floor. Picks like the Heavenly Sneaker Creation Rug and the Cuban Link Diamond Gold Rug sit alongside shaped pieces such as the Acid Smile Rug, the Cherry Bomb Rug and the Eye Lips Rug, which suit a sneaker wall, a closet or a man cave. Explore the full range of hypebeast and streetwear rugs.

Art, Music, Kitchen and Modern Decor

Not every rug in the catalog is a fandom piece. The Koi Whirlpool Lotus Rug, the Celtic Spiral Garden Rug and the Vitruvian Blueprint Rug read like printed artwork, the Hamsa Hand Evil Eye Rug and the Cactus Bloom Garden Rug add folk and botanical character, and the Skeleton Wine Toast Rug brings a gothic Victorian twist. Music lovers can pick The Violin & Sheet Music Rug or The Who Mod Target Rug, and kitchen mats such as the Vine Tomato Rug, the Classic Cocktails Rug and the Autumn Leaves Rug cover the spot in front of the sink. These are the unique rugs to reach for when you want personality without a character on the floor.

How to Choose the Right Area Rug

A printed area rug does two jobs at once: it defines a zone in the room and it carries the artwork you chose. Get the size and placement right first, then let the design do the rest. These are the questions worth answering before you add a rug to your cart.

Measure the Space, Not Just the Room

Measure the zone the rug should define rather than the whole floor. For a seating area, measure from the front legs of the sofa to the far side of the coffee table and add some margin. For a bedroom, measure the area where your feet land when you get up. For a desk, roll your chair back as far as you normally do and measure that full range of movement. Mark the outline on the floor with painter's tape and walk around it for a day; it is the easiest way to tell whether a 4 x 6 ft or a 5 x 7 ft rug feels right before you commit.

As a general rule, leave about 18 to 24 inches of bare floor between the rug and the walls. That border frames the rug and keeps a small room from feeling wall-to-wall carpeted.

Place It Around Your Furniture

A rug that floats in the middle of the room, touching nothing, tends to look too small. In a living room, aim for a rug large enough that at least the front legs of the sofa and chairs rest on it; a 5 x 7 ft rug usually does this for a compact seating group. In a bedroom, slide the rug partly under the lower two-thirds of the bed, or place a smaller rug along one or both sides so your feet hit something soft first thing in the morning. Under a coffee table, center the table on the rug so the artwork frames it instead of hiding behind it.

Match Colors and Style to the Room

Fandom designs work best when they share a color with something already in the room. A deep red Berserk or Sith design picks up red LED strips or a crimson throw. Ghibli greens and Stardew Valley earth tones blend into plant-filled rooms with natural wood. Pastel Pokémon and kids' designs suit white or light gray furniture. If your walls and shelves are already busy with posters and figures, pick a calmer design with a limited palette so the floor grounds the room instead of competing with it. If the room is plain, this is where a loud, cool rug earns its place as the main feature.

Consider orientation too. Portrait-style artwork, such as a character standing tall, reads best when you approach it from the short end. Symmetrical crests and emblems look right from any side, which makes them a safe choice for the middle of a room.

Chairs, Traffic, Kids and Pets

Think about what will happen on the rug every day. Under a rolling desk or gaming chair, choose the Standard Level: its flatter velvet surface lets wheels roll smoothly and the faux leather backing keeps the rug from creeping. In a busy entry or a family room, a design with darker tones or a detailed pattern hides everyday dust and footprints better than a large pale area. For kids' rooms and nurseries, the Premium Level gives a cushioned 7 mm surface for floor play, and the inks are non-toxic and skin-safe. With pets, a printed area rug makes spot cleaning straightforward: lift hair with a vacuum on low, blot accidents with a damp cloth and hand wash when needed.

Area Rug Size Guide

Most rectangular designs come in the five sizes below. A smaller group of rectangular designs is offered in four sizes, topping out at 4 x 6 ft, and each product page shows exactly which sizes are available for that design.

Size (ft) Size (cm) Best for
2 x 3 ft 60 x 90 cm Doorways, bedside, in front of a sink, small desk chair mat
2.6 x 3.9 ft 80 x 120 cm Under a gaming or office chair, entryways, reading nooks
3.3 x 5 ft 100 x 150 cm Beside a bed, kids' rooms, in front of a sofa
4 x 6 ft 120 x 180 cm Dorm rooms, game rooms, under a coffee table
5 x 7 ft 150 x 214 cm Living rooms, home theaters, the main rug in a bedroom

Under a sofa: for a two- or three-seat sofa, a 5 x 7 ft rug lets the front legs rest on the edge while the rest of the design stays visible. A 3.3 x 5 ft rug works in front of a loveseat or a single armchair. Beside a bed: a 2.6 x 3.9 ft rug along one side of a twin or full bed is enough for a soft first step, while a 4 x 6 ft or 5 x 7 ft rug placed across the lower part of a queen bed covers both sides. Under a desk chair: choose a size that keeps all the wheels on the rug when you push back from the desk, which in most setups means 2.6 x 3.9 ft or larger. If your desk is wide and you often roll sideways between screens, 3.3 x 5 ft gives more room.

Shaped rugs: more than 270 designs are shaped rugs, cut along the outline of the artwork rather than a rectangle. Each comes in four sizes, but the exact dimensions depend on the shape: square-ish designs, wider designs and tall designs all scale differently. Across the collection, shaped sizes range from about 60 x 100 cm or 80 x 80 cm for the smallest options up to 160 x 180 cm for wide shapes and 120 x 260 cm for the tallest. The exact measurements for each design are listed on its product page.

Standard vs Premium Area Rugs

Every design is available in two quality levels. They are printed with the same process and both have a non-slip rug backing; the real difference is thickness and how the rug feels underfoot.

  • Standard Level: a lightweight 5 mm rug with a shiny velvet surface that shows color and fine detail especially well. It has a faux leather non-slip backing and is the recommended choice under a desk chair, because the wheels roll smoothly over it.
  • Premium Level: a softer, cushioned 7 mm rug with a plush surface that feels warmer when you walk, sit or lie on it. It has a natural cotton anti-slip backing and suits bedrooms, living rooms and kids' rooms.

A simple way to decide: if something rolls over it, go Standard; if someone sits or plays on it, go Premium.

Printing, Materials and Safety

Each rug is printed with HD sublimation, a process that bonds the ink into the fibers rather than laying it on top, so the design will not crack or peel as the rug is used. The inks are UV-resistant to cope with ordinary daylight, although it is still best to avoid long hours of direct sun. Reinforced stitched edges help prevent fraying and curling at the border.

The non-slip backing grips hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl, concrete and low-pile carpet. The inks are non-toxic and skin-safe, which is why these rugs are suitable for nurseries and playrooms. All rugs are designed for indoor use only.

How to Care for Your Area Rug

  • Vacuum on a low setting, or take the rug outside and shake it out.
  • Blot spills right away with a damp cloth; do not rub, which pushes the spill deeper.
  • When the rug needs a deeper clean, hand wash it in cold water with a mild detergent and let it air dry flat.
  • Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals, do not tumble dry, and do not iron the printed surface.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so wear and light exposure stay even.
  • Your rug ships folded; lay it flat and the creases relax within a few days.

Shipping and Returns

Every rug is made to order, which is what lets the catalog stay this large. Most orders are produced within 1 to 3 business days and delivered within 5 to 12 days depending on your location, and you receive tracking details by email. Because each rug is printed specifically for your order, returns are accepted within 14 days for shipping damage or a defect, but not for a change of mind.

Area Rug FAQ

Are these official franchise rugs?

No. These are original fan-inspired designs created by Padloom and printed on our own rugs. They are not produced by, or connected to, the studios or companies behind the franchises.

What size area rug do I need?

Measure the zone you want to cover and leave about 18 to 24 inches of floor around the rug. As a starting point, 5 x 7 ft suits a living room seating area, 3.3 x 5 ft or 4 x 6 ft works beside a bed or in a kids' room, and 2.6 x 3.9 ft or larger fits under a desk chair.

Are these non-slip rugs safe on hardwood floors?

Yes. Both levels have a non-slip backing, faux leather on Standard and natural cotton on Premium, that grips hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl, concrete and low-pile carpet.

Can I use an area rug under a gaming or office chair?

Yes. Choose the Standard Level in 2.6 x 3.9 ft or larger so all the wheels stay on the rug. The flatter velvet surface lets wheels roll smoothly while helping protect hard floors from wheel marks.

Can I wash my area rug?

Yes, by hand. Blot everyday spills with a damp cloth, and when a deeper clean is needed, hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent and air dry flat. Skip bleach, tumble drying and ironing.

What is a shaped rug?

A shaped rug is cut around the outline of the artwork, so a Pokémon, an animal or a logo-style graphic keeps its own silhouette instead of sitting inside a rectangle. Shaped rugs come in four sizes, and the exact dimensions for each design are on its product page.

Is this the same as a custom rug?

Each rug is printed only after you order it, in the size and quality level you choose, so it is made for you rather than pulled from a warehouse shelf. The artwork itself is chosen from our catalog of designs.

Are printed rugs safe for a nursery or playroom?

Yes. The inks are non-toxic and skin-safe, the stitched edges resist curling, and the Premium Level adds a cushioned 7 mm surface for crawling and floor play.
