Product Description
A round pink axolotl floats in the middle of a teal water-lily medallion, mouth open in a happy grin, feathery gills fanned out like tiny coral fronds. This nursery round rug is laid out for the circle: the ornate frame closes around the little swimmer, then pushes outward in rings of seashells, starfish, lotus blooms and drifting bubbles. The palette stays soft, with blush pink, seafoam, dusty teal and warm cream.
Circles forgive square rooms. This one softens the hard corners of a bedroom, settles beside a toddler bed, or fills a reading nook where picture books pile up. Because the medallion sits dead center, the axolotl stays the first thing anyone sees.
The Design: Pastel Seashell Medallion
The art borrows the structure of an heirloom carpet and fills it with the ocean floor. At the center, a lozenge of swirled teal water holds the axolotl, with sage-green kelp curling up both sides and pale aqua bubbles rising past its gills. Around it, a cream field carries scrolling leaves, pink lotus flowers at the four compass points, pearl-filled scallop shells and coral-pink starfish, all repeated in mirror symmetry.
The outer border is dusty teal, studded with tiny shells and strings of pearls. Linework is soft and a little watercolor in feel, so nothing looks harsh.
