Donatello Medallion Round Rug - TMNT Chair Mat

Donatello stands at the heart of this TMNT round rug, purple mask tails flying, bo staff planted at his side and a grin on his face. Around him the artwork unfolds like a Persian carpet, with a lilac medallion at the center, deep plum fields beyond it and gold scrollwork running out to the edge. Everything is laid out for the circle, so the border closes cleanly all the way around.

A circle behaves differently on the floor than a rectangle. It softens the hard corners of a room, tucks beside furniture without fighting it, and gives a desk corner or a bedroom a clear center. Under a chair it works as a chair mat that feels far friendlier than a sheet of hard plastic.

The Design: Tech Lab Carpet

This is Donatello the inventor, so the ornament is built from his workshop instead of from flowers alone. Cogs, wrenches, glowing light bulbs, circuit-style branches and small test tubes of purple liquid share the lilac center panel with curling gold vines. Out in the dark ring, retro computers alternate with pizza slices, sewer covers and turtle shells, each one set inside its own cluster of gold leaf work. The outer border repeats crossed wooden staffs, more gears and fluttering purple mask ties between little fleur-de-lis motifs.

The palette stays tight: plum, violet, lilac and warm gold, with Donatello's green skin and orange plastron as the only bright counterpoint. Most turtle artwork goes for a loud street scene. This one reads like an heirloom textile that happens to be packed with in-jokes, and fans keep spotting new details the longer they look.

Donatello on the Floor

The cut is a true circle, and the surface is a soft plush low-pile that feels good underfoot and keeps the fine gold linework crisp. Underneath sits a non-slip rubber backing that grips hard floors such as wood, tile and laminate. Care is easy, because the rug is machine washable on a gentle cold cycle, then air-dried. The colors come from dye-sublimation printing, which sets the ink into the fibers instead of leaving it on top, so the purples stay deep. It suits a gaming room rug setup, a teen's bedroom or a study corner with a workbench feel.

Sizes & Rug Level

Six diameters are available, from 80 cm (31.5″) up to 180 cm (70.9″). Choose 80 or 100 cm under a desk chair or beside a bed, where the turtle and the inner medallion stay in view. Step up to 120 or 140 cm for a reading nook, a hobby corner or a kids' play area. The 160 and 180 cm sizes can anchor a seating area, and at that scale the piece reads as a proper round area rug with the whole tech-lab border on display.

Two quality levels are offered. Standart Level is solid everyday quality for daily use. Premium Level adds a thicker, plusher pile and a more durable backing, a good pick for high-traffic spots or a rug that will see a lot of rolling chair wheels.

Quick Questions

Is it machine washable?

Yes. Use a gentle cold cycle and air-dry it, and the gold linework and deep purples stay set in the fibers thanks to the dye-sublimation print.

Does it slip on hard floors?

No. The rubber backing grips wood, tile and laminate, so Donatello stays put even when a desk chair rolls across the edge.

Can I put it over carpet?

Yes, it lies flat over low-pile carpet. That makes it an easy way to mark out a gaming or homework zone in a carpeted room.

Which size should I choose?

Go with 80 to 100 cm for a desk or bedside, 120 to 140 cm for a nook, and 160 to 180 cm for a seating area. The medallion is centered, so the turtle lands in the middle of whichever diameter you pick.
