Entei stands square to the viewer on a field of crimson flame, brown mane flaring and gold crest catching the light, and this Pokemon round rug wraps the whole scene in a ring of volcanoes, towers and fire gems. The artwork is laid out for the circle itself, with the beast dead center and every border element following the curve outward.
A circle does something a rectangle cannot. It softens the corners of a square room, settles under a desk chair without fighting the furniture, and gives a bedroom floor a clear focal point beside the bed. Because the layout is a medallion, the rug looks intentional from whichever doorway you walk in through.
The Design: A Volcano Medallion
