Product Description
A paper cup of water sits perfectly level on a wooden crate of tofu while mountain roads curl through pine forests around it. This Initial D round rug is laid out for the circle: the cup-and-crate scene anchors the center, and a ring of sunrises, moons and blue scrollwork closes the edge. Cream, teal and warm gold carry the palette.
A circle behaves differently on the floor than a rectangle does. It softens the hard corners of a square room and lets a desk chair swivel without catching an edge. Slid under a desk, it works as a chair mat that keeps the medallion visible around the chair legs.
The Design: A Mountain Pass Medallion
The artwork borrows the look of an illuminated manuscript page and points it at a very specific bit of drifting folklore. At the middle, water swirls inside the cup in ribbons of pale blue, and the crate underneath shows its cut-out handle and the soft edges of each tofu block. Around that core, four-lobed cartouches alternate between the cup, the crate, a crescent moon over drifting clouds and a peach sunrise behind jagged peaks.
Between the cartouches, gray roads wind through dark green pines, switchback after switchback, in a pale parchment field laced with gold vines. The outer border repeats tiny cups and crates between curling blue waves. Nothing here is loud. It rewards a second look, which is why the other Initial D rugs pairs well with it if you like your fandom a little subtle.
Fujiwara Tofu on the Floor
The surface is a soft plush low pile that feels gentle underfoot and keeps the fine linework crisp. Underneath, a non-slip rubber backing grips hard floors such as wood, tile and laminate. The rug is machine washable, so a spilled drink or a muddy sock print is a laundry-day problem, not a lasting one. The dye-sublimation print sets the colors into the fibers rather than sitting on top of them.
It suits a bedroom corner, a study or a console setup just as well as a living area. Expect it to look best where the whole circle can be seen.
Sizes & Rug Level
Six diameters are available: 80 cm (31.5″), 100 cm (39.4″), 120 cm (47.2″), 140 cm (55.1″), 160 cm (63″) and 180 cm (70.9″). The 80 and 100 cm sizes fit under a desk chair or beside a bed. At 120 to 140 cm the medallion fills a reading nook or a small hallway landing, and 160 to 180 cm is large enough to sit at the center of a seating area.
Two levels are offered. Standart Level is solid everyday quality. Premium Level has a thicker, plusher pile and a more durable backing for spots that see heavy traffic.
