Product Description
This Evangelion round rug turns a twisted crimson lance and a pale crescent moon into a carpet-style medallion on a black center disc. The whole artwork is laid out for the circle, with cream cartouches, gold vines and a ring of moons and stars running edge to edge.
A circle behaves differently from a rectangle on the floor. It softens the hard corners of a square room, gives a bed or an armchair a clear center, and tucks under a desk chair without awkward corners sticking out. Because the lance points straight up, the design reads best when the tip faces your desk or the doorway.
The Design: Crimson Carpet Medallion
The artwork borrows the language of an antique Persian carpet, but the symbols give it away. In the black inner disc, the twin-pronged red lance is wound like a rope and cuts straight through a cream crescent, with four-point stars floating nearby. Red vines braid up both sides. Small orange blossoms and gold leaf scrolls fill every gap. Beyond that disc, four cream cartouches each hold a triangle with an eye inside, while ginkgo leaves and crescent moons drift through the oxblood field between them. A narrow border of tiny tree roundels, moons and stars closes the ring.
The palette stays tight: oxblood red, bone cream, antique gold and ink black, with orange saved for the flowers. It reads dark, warm and a little aged, nothing like the bright character art elsewhere in the catalog.
