Product Description
This Pokemon round rug catches Magikarp mid-leap, mouth wide open, bursting out of a swirl of blue water at the center of a tiled medallion. The artwork is laid out for the circle: a splash panel in the middle, then rings of lily pads, gold coins, crowns and four fishing rods with Poke Ball lures, all working outward to the rim. Red, teal, cream and gold carry the whole piece.
A circle suits this design because the pattern itself is radial. It softens the corners of a square room and gives a bedroom floor a clear focal point beside the bed. Under a desk, it works as a chair mat that keeps the splash visible around the chair legs. Nothing gets cropped at the edge.
The Design: Tilework Meets Splash
Instead of a plain character poster, the artist built this one like a painted ceramic tile. The ground is an aged cream with soft watercolor texture, framed by a deep teal border of curling wave scrollwork and little red scale-pattern panels. Magikarp sits in the middle in its familiar orange-red, with pale whiskers, white fins and a gold crown, tossed up by foaming water and floating bubbles.
The crown is the joke and the heart of the thing. It repeats eight times around the rings, as if the humblest fish in the series had been given a royal court of lily pads and gold coins.
