Mareep stands in a scalloped blue medallion at the center of this Pokemon round rug, cream fleece puffed out, yellow-and-black striped ears on either side and a red-tipped tail glowing behind. Around the medallion the artwork spreads in a ring of four lighthouses, wooden fences, blue yarn balls and curling green vines on a parchment ground. Everything is laid out for the circle, so the pattern repeats evenly from the middle to the deep teal edge.
A circle changes how a pattern reads on the floor. It softens the hard corners of a square room, gives a reading nook a clear center and sits comfortably beside a bed. The medallion stays easy to spot from the doorway.
The Design: Johto Storybook Medallion
The art looks closer to an illuminated manuscript or an old glazed tile than to a flat anime screenshot. Soft watercolor texture runs through the cream ground, and thin gold linework traces every vine, scallop and star. The palette is butter yellow and cream, teal-navy, sage green and patches of sky blue, with ruby-red orbs placed like jewels along the border.
