Sneakers march around a cream medallion, their white laces looping into bows and scrollwork across a dove-gray field. This hypebeast round rug borrows the bones of a Persian carpet, then swaps the usual florals for Jordan-style high-tops, white low-tops, chunky runners and skate shoes, with a crimson swoosh at the dead center. Everything is laid out for the circle, so the pattern repeats cleanly whichever way you walk in.
A circle behaves differently from a rectangle. It softens the hard corners of a square room, gives a desk chair a smooth place to glide, and anchors a bed or a sneaker shelf without fighting the furniture around it. The red border works like a picture frame, which means the rug still looks finished when half of it hides under a chair.
The Design: Laces as Scrollwork
The idea is simple and a little cheeky: the shoelaces do the job of the vines. White laces curl out from four bows at the compass points, loop around each pair of shoes and end in small red tips, the way tendrils would in a woven carpet.
