Product Description
The Nu Gundam rises at the center of this Gundam round rug, white armor catching the glow of an emerald ring above a curve of Earth, with its long fin funnels fanned out behind one shoulder. The whole artwork is laid out for the circle: a scalloped medallion window holds the suit and its asteroid field, and a ring of gold filigree runs all the way to the edge.
A circle behaves differently on the floor than a rectangle does. It softens the hard corners of a desk area, sits neatly under a rolling chair and gives a gaming corner a clear center to build around. Because the artwork reads the same from every angle, it also works as a chair mat for anyone who spins around at a desk.
The Design: Filigree Frame, Orbital Scene
This piece borrows the logic of an illuminated carpet and fills it with mecha hardware. Crisp anime linework gives the Nu Gundam sharp panels of ivory, navy and gold, with red accents on the chest and shield, while the scene behind it glows in deep blue and emerald green. A jagged asteroid drifts past its left shoulder and Earth curves along the bottom edge.
Then comes the frame. Scalloped gold filigree, tiny red blossoms and four-point stars wrap the medallion, and the roundels hold green star bursts, drifting colony cylinders and racks of funnel units. Gold V crests at the top and bottom echo the V-fin on the helmet. Nothing here follows the usual poster layout of a hero against a flat backdrop, and that is the point.
