Pidgeot sweeps low over a sea of golden wheat, wings spread wide and red-gold crest streaming in the wind, as a river winds toward misty green mountains. This Pokemon poster renders the Bird Pokémon in Japanese woodblock-inspired ink and watercolor on aged paper, with a deep blue sky, white wind ribbons, a red title cartouche and seal stamp, and it is printed to order. Ripe wheat heads bend in the gust.
Warm gold and bold blue make this one of the sunniest pieces in the collection. It works beautifully as wall art for living room walls, bringing an open-country feel to any space. Fans of the first-generation games will remember their first flight out of Kanto.
The Artwork: Harvest Wind
Wheat stalks fill the lower half in fine, rhythmic ink strokes over ochre and amber washes. Wind is shown the Japanese way, as long white curving ribbons that sweep across the whole frame and curl into spirals. Pidgeot's feathers are layered in tan and cream with crisp black edges, the red tail fanned behind. Distant mountains fade into soft green and blue. Among this ink-wash series it is the most pastoral landscape and the warmest harvest palette.
