Rapture Bathysphere Round Rug - BioShock Chair Mat
A bronze bathysphere drifts past a skyline of Art Deco towers at the bottom of the sea, and every ring of the artwork is built around that glowing center. This BioShock round rug lays the whole scene out for the circle: the city sits in the middle, wrapped by a border of diving helmets, seahorses, nautilus shells and gears in teal, verdigris and brass.
Round shape does the staging here. A circle softens the corners of a square room, slips under a desk chair without fuss, and gives a console corner a focal point you can see from the sofa.
The Design: Deco City Below
The center panel is a drowned metropolis drawn in the language of 1930s Art Deco. A golden sunburst fans out behind the tallest spire, towers climb in stepped tiers with amber windows glowing against deep teal water, and glass-roofed walkways arch between them. In front, the brass bathysphere hangs from its gantry, round portholes catching a little light. It reads like a travel poster for a city that should never have been built.
The border does the heavy lifting around that scene. Gold fan motifs mark the compass points, antique diving helmets sit in medallions, and seahorses, nautilus shells and small gears fill the gaps between curling sea-green ornament. The palette stays tight: ink teal, verdigris, aged brass and cream. If this one pulls you in, other BioShock rugs in the collection explore the same world from different angles.
Rapture on the Floor
The rug has a clean circular cut and a soft plush low-pile surface that feels good underfoot. A non-slip rubber backing grips hard floors such as wood, tile and laminate, so the circle stays where you put it. The rug is machine washable on a gentle cold cycle, then air-dry. Because the dye-sublimation print sets the colors into the fibers, the teal and gold keep their depth.
It handles a gaming room rug brief better than most: dark, moody and rich enough to hold its own beside a glowing monitor. Slide a small size under your desk and the artwork becomes a chair mat for long sessions. Go bigger and it becomes a round area rug in front of a sofa. Even a compact diameter works as an accent rug at the foot of a bed.
Sizes & Rug Level
Six diameters are available, from 80 cm (31.5″) up to 180 cm (70.9″): 80, 100, 120, 140, 160 and 180 cm. Choose 80 to 100 cm under a desk chair or beside a bed, 120 to 140 cm for a reading nook or console corner, and 160 to 180 cm when the rug should be the center of a seating area. The larger sizes give the border room to show.
Two levels are offered. Standart is solid everyday quality for a busy room, while Premium adds a thicker, plusher pile and a more durable backing for spots that see heavy foot traffic.
Quick Questions
Is it machine washable?
Yes. Use a gentle cold cycle and air-dry it, and the Art Deco colors stay rich.
Does it slip on hard floors?
No, the rubber backing grips wood, tile and laminate. The city scene stays centered under your chair or beside the bed.
Can I put it over carpet?
Yes. The low pile lies flat over low-pile carpet, so the bathysphere and skyline stay clear of bumps.
Which size should I choose?
Pick 80 to 100 cm for a desk, 120 to 140 cm for a nook, and 160 to 180 cm to anchor a living area. The wider the circle, the more of the helmet border you see.
