A red panda with rosy cheeks and happily closed eyes hugs a maple-leaf teacup at the center of this kids round rug, its striped tail curled behind like a cinnamon scarf. Everything around the little tea drinker is laid out for the circle, with the artwork growing outward in rings from the middle to a beaded rim.
Circles do something rectangles can't: they soften a square room. Drop this one beside a bed, in front of a reading chair or into a play corner, and the corners seem to ease off. The pattern has no top or bottom, so it reads correctly from any doorway.
The Design: Autumn Tea Medallion
The panda sits inside a cream, pointed-arch cartouche that works like a small stage, ringed with maple leaves in rust and amber. Four teacup panels mark the compass points of the chestnut-brown field, each tucked into its own leaf-edged frame. Between them you'll spot red apples, spotted toadstools, pinecones and acorns, all strung along golden scrolling vines. The palette stays warm: cinnamon, rust, honey, cream and deep cocoa.
