Rivendell Autumn Round Rug - Lord of the Rings Chair Mat

This Lord of the Rings round rug paints Rivendell at the turn of autumn: tiered waterfalls spill beneath stone bridges, green-roofed halls cling to the cliffs, and a peach-and-gold sunset glows between the mountains. The artwork is laid out for the circle, with the valley sitting in a scalloped medallion at the center and everything else ringing outward. Quiet, warm, a little wistful.

A circle does something a rectangle can't here. It softens a square room, gives a reading nook a clear center, and settles beside a bed or in front of an armchair where a book is always half finished. Pull it under a desk and the whole scene stays in view as your chair swings around.

The Design: Rivendell in Amber Light

Painted in the manner of an illuminated manuscript, the piece wraps a cream parchment ring of gold scrollwork and red-and-amber maple leaves around the valley. Small roundels sit around that ring, each holding one emblem: a harp, a glowing lantern, an open book, an eight-point star, and a stone plinth bearing the pieces of a broken blade. The details reward a slow look. Deep pine green takes over the outer border, where pointed elven arches and little fir trees repeat all the way around the edge.

The palette leans on forest green, honey gold and burnt orange, so it reads as a late-October afternoon rather than a battle scene. Anyone building a shelf of Middle-earth pieces can browse more Lord of the Rings rugs and see how each design takes a different corner of the story.

Rivendell on the Floor

The surface is a soft plush low-pile that feels good underfoot, and the dye-sublimation print sets the colors into the fibers, so the greens and golds stay rich instead of sitting on top. Underneath, a non-slip rubber backing grips hard floors like wood, tile and laminate. Cleaning is easy because the rug is machine washable: a gentle cold cycle, then air-dry.

In the smaller sizes it works as a chair mat for a desk or gaming setup, and the round shape lets the chair turn without catching a corner. As a bedroom rug it adds a warm pool of color beside the bed. Larger diameters act as a round area rug under a small seating group. Even the 80 cm size can serve as an accent rug by a reading chair.

Sizes & Rug Level

Six diameters are available: 80 cm (31.5″), 100 cm, 120 cm, 140 cm, 160 cm and 180 cm (70.9″). Choose 80 to 100 cm under a desk chair or beside a bed, where the medallion stays visible between the chair legs. Go for 120 to 140 cm in a reading nook or a kid's corner, so the harps and lanterns in the ring have room to breathe. Take 160 to 180 cm if you want the waterfalls to anchor the center of a seating area.

Two quality levels are offered. Standart Level is solid everyday quality for daily use. Premium Level adds a thicker, plusher pile and a more durable backing for busy rooms.

Quick Questions

Is it machine washable?

Yes. Run it on a gentle cold cycle and air-dry it, and the Rivendell colors will stay set in the fibers.

Does it slip on hard floors?

No. The rubber backing grips wood, tile and laminate, so the rug stays put even when a desk chair rolls across the golden border.

Can I put it over carpet?

Yes, it lies flat over low-pile carpet. The round edge stays crisp, and the green outer band keeps the shape clear against the carpet.

Which size should I choose?

Pick 100 cm for a desk or bedside, 120 to 140 cm for a nook, and 160 to 180 cm for a living room. The bigger the circle, the more of the valley you see at a glance.
