Sanji stands at the center of this One Piece round rug with his hands in his pockets, a cigarette trailing smoke and a ring of orange flame licking up around his black double-breasted suit. Everything else is built outward from him in rings: cream and navy arabesques, crossed kitchen tools at the top and bottom, and a deep blue border that closes the edge like a glazed plate. The artwork is laid out for the circle, so nothing is cropped or stretched.
A circle behaves differently from a rectangle on the floor. It softens the hard corners of a desk area, gives the eye one clear focal point and tucks under furniture without fighting it. Slid beneath a rolling seat, it works as a chair mat that still looks like a deliberate piece of art.
The Design: Fire and Tilework
This one reads like a hand-painted ceramic plate that happens to have a pirate cook in the middle. Sanji sits inside a gold sunburst ring, his curled brow and goatee sharp against a navy cloud of smoke. Around him, four tuna swim along the diagonals, silver cloches sit at the left and right, and a knife and spoon cross inside flame-lit panels above and below his head. Blue-gray smoke scrolls repeat in the cream field, echoing his cigarette. Gold spirals mark the four compass points on the outer band.
