Product Description
Scizor sits at the center of this Pokemon round rug, scarlet claws raised and wings spread over a cream and crimson star burst. The artwork is laid out for the circle, with every ring of ornament folding back toward the figure in the middle.
A circle behaves differently on the floor than a rectangle does. It softens the hard corners of a desk area, settles under a chair without fighting the furniture, and fills the odd empty patch beside a bed. Under a desk it works as a colorful chair mat that lets your seat glide across the pattern.
The Design: Gearwork Carpet Medallion
Think of an old Persian carpet that somebody rebuilt in a machine shop. Scizor holds the center inside a scalloped cream frame, and gold rays fan out behind it like the points of a compass. Around that sits a deep black field where curling gold scrollwork wraps silver gears, steel cylinders, pale feather blades and crescent slashes in red and white. Four small cartouches repeat the Scizor claw head at the top, bottom and sides.
The outer border is teal, which makes the red pop even harder. Gold fleur-de-lis, tiny gears and more claw heads march around the rim. The palette stays tight: crimson, black, antique gold, teal and cool silver gray. Nothing here is a flat character sticker. It is a full ornamental piece, and that is what separates it from the plainer Pokemon designs in the catalog.
