This Pokemon round rug shows Snorlax sound asleep on a bank of cream and pale-blue clouds, belly up, paws resting on his stomach, a tiny swirl of dream smoke drifting above his head. The whole scene sits inside a night-blue pointed arch, and the artwork is laid out for the circle from the central cloud bank to the berry-vine edge.
A circle suits a sleeper. It softens the corners of a square bedroom, gives a reading nook a clear center, and settles beside a bed where bare feet land in the morning. Under a desk chair it works too, though this artwork rewards being seen from above.
The Design: Storybook Border Meets Snorlax
Rather than a plain cartoon pose, this piece borrows the look of an illuminated manuscript page. Eight pointed cartouches ring the center, and each one holds a small still life: a red apple, a tasseled pillow, a wooden flute riding a curl of wave, a crescent moon among stars, an onigiri rice ball. Every object hints at what Snorlax cares about, which is food, sleep and the flute that famously wakes him.
