The Lord of the Rings Mouse Pads

A Lord of the Rings mouse pad lets you keep Middle-earth within arm's reach, whether you prefer a vintage map of the realms, the inscription of the One Ring, the Eye of Mordor or Gandalf facing the Balrog on the bridge. Each Padloom pad is made to order, and the size range runs from a small mouse pad up to a full desk mat that covers your entire desk, with chair mats for the floor beneath it. Every size is finished with precision-stitched edges and a non-slip natural rubber base.

The collection holds more than 40 designs, so this guide sorts them into clear groups, then helps you pick the right size, explains how the surface handles gaming and office work, and covers care, production and shipping. If you are looking for a LOTR mouse pad for your own desk or as a gift, you will find everything you need below.

Lord of the Rings Mouse Pad Designs in the Collection

The designs fall into five groups: maps, the One Ring and its script, the forces of Mordor, the battle with the Balrog, and the heroes and places of the story. Map and script designs lean calm and decorative, while the Mordor and Balrog pieces are dark and fiery.

Maps of Middle-earth

Maps are a natural fit for a long desk mat, because the whole of Middle-earth stretches out behind your keyboard. The Middle-earth Map comes in more than one artwork under the same name, so you can choose the version that best suits your desk. Alongside it you will find the Lord of the Rings Map, Vintage Middle Earth with an old-parchment character, and Mordor Lands, which zooms in on the dark realm in the east.

The One Ring Map appears in two versions that combine the map with the Ring itself. From The Hobbit, Thror's Map brings the dwarves' chart of the Lonely Mountain to your desk.

The One Ring, Elvish Script and Andúril

These designs are built around the inscription of the One Ring and the flowing Elvish lettering of the books and films. One Ring Script, Elvish Ring Script and One Ring Inscription put the lettering front and center, while One Ring Black Edition and the One Ring Black desk mat set the Ring on a dark background for a sleek, minimal look. One Ring Blueprint and Anduril Blueprint take a technical-drawing approach to the Ring and the reforged sword of the king. These are some of the easiest designs to use at work, because they read as elegant pattern and typography from across the room.

Mordor, Sauron and the Nazgûl

The dark side of Middle-earth has the largest group. For the Eye itself, choose between Eye of Mordor and Mordor Eye. Sauron's Dark Tower and Mordor Tower focus on Barad-dûr, Sauron Dark Lord is a portrait of the enemy himself, and Mount Doom shows the mountain where the Ring was forged.

The servants of the Dark Lord are well represented too. Ringwraiths and Nazgûl Shadows feature the nine riders, and Witch-King of Angmar singles out their leader. Shelob's Lair takes you into the spider's tunnels near Cirith Ungol, and Gollum Molten Descent captures the creature's final fall into the fire.

Gandalf and the Balrog

The confrontation in Moria is one of the most popular scenes in the collection. Several different artworks share the name Gandalf vs Balrog, so you can compare them and choose the composition you like most. Gandalf and the Balrog and Wizard vs Balrog Bridge return to the same confrontation at the bridge of Khazad-dûm, and Balrog Showdown adds a lava-filled battle scene. The drama of this scene comes through best on a large XL to XXXXL mat.

The Fellowship, the Shire, Rivendell and Rohan

For a lighter mood, the heroes and homes of Middle-earth are a good match. Fellowship Classic Art, Fellowship Art and Fellowship Silhouette celebrate the nine companions, while Two Towers Art and Return of the King Art are dedicated to the later parts of the story. Character Guide works like an illustrated who's who of the cast.

Places get their own designs as well. Bag End Green Hill brings the green hill of the Shire to your desk, Rivendell Autumn Bridge and Elven Haven capture the calm of the elves, and Riders of Rohan honors the horse lords of the plains.

Lord of the Rings Mouse Pad Size Guide

Every design comes in the eleven sizes below, from a compact mouse pad to a chair mat.

• S is for a mouse on its own, or for travel.
• M or L holds a mouse and a small keyboard.
• XL or XXL gives a full keyboard and mouse plenty of room.
• XXXL or XXXXL covers the whole desk, the ideal canvas for a full map of Middle-earth.
• The TCG Mat at 14 x 24 in is designed for card games.
• The chair mats (80 x 120, 100 x 150 and 120 x 180 cm) go under a desk chair on hard floors.

Measure the width and depth of your desk before you order and leave a few centimeters of margin on each side, so the mat lies flat and does not hang over the edge.

Surface and Build

All designs share the same construction:

• Surface: micro-woven polyester cloth, smooth and optimized for all DPI and sensitivity settings, for both laser and optical mice.
• Base: 3 mm natural rubber with a non-slip textured grip that stays in place.
• Edges: precision-stitched, anti-fray borders.
• Print: high-definition, fade-resistant print, so the fine lines of maps and Elvish script stay crisp.

For gaming, the size matters as much as the surface. At low DPI you move the mouse with your whole arm, so an XL or XXL mat gives you room for wide swipes in fast FPS games. At high DPI, short wrist movements are enough and a smaller pad works well, which suits MMO and RPG players who spend more time on precise clicks and hotbars than on big turns. The cloth is optimized for every DPI and sensitivity setting, so there is nothing to recalibrate. In the office, the even surface makes everyday cursor work smooth, and the rubber base keeps the mat steady while you type.

Middle-earth Desk Setup Ideas

Fantasy Gaming Battlestation

A dark XXXXL design such as Mount Doom or Sauron's Dark Tower turns a gaming desk into the slopes of Mordor. Pair it with a black keyboard and warm amber lighting for a fiery glow.

Scholar's Study or Home Office

Map and script designs feel right in a home office. Vintage Middle Earth or One Ring Inscription in XL keeps the desk calm and refined, and they look like decor rather than gaming gear on video calls. If your shelf also holds a school of witchcraft and wizardry, our Harry Potter mouse pads suit the same scholarly desk.

Book Nook, Dorm and Gifts

Bag End Green Hill or Rivendell Autumn Bridge in M or L brings a cozy touch to a dorm desk or reading corner. A LOTR desk mat is also an easy gift for a friend who rereads the books every winter. And for the friend who splits movie nights between Middle-earth and superheroes, our Marvel mouse pads are worth a look.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. These are original fan-inspired designs created by Padloom and printed on our own mouse pads and desk mats.

Which size shows a full map best?

Choose XXXL (19.7 x 39.4 in) or XXXXL (23.6 x 47.2 in). Both cover most or all of a desk, so the whole map stays visible around your keyboard.

Can I wash the mat?

Yes. Wipe spots with a damp cloth, or use a gentle machine cycle in cold or lukewarm water with mild detergent. Air dry it flat and avoid bleach, the tumble dryer and the iron.

Does it work with my mouse?

Yes. The micro-woven polyester surface works with laser and optical mice and is optimized for all DPI and sensitivity settings.

Will it slide on my desk?

No. The 3 mm natural rubber base has a non-slip textured grip that keeps the mat in place.
