Product Description
A winged golden ball sits at the center of this Harry Potter round rug, its wings spread wide while gold rays fan out across a deep blue field. The artwork is laid out for the circle, so brooms, house flags and trophies repeat around the middle like points on a compass.
Round shapes soften a square room. Slip this one under a desk chair, lay it in a reading nook or set it beside the bed, and the medallion reads the same from every side. Nothing points the wrong way.
The Design: A Snitch Medallion
Think illuminated manuscript rather than scoreboard. The central snitch glows inside a scalloped panel of lapis blue, ringed by swirling gold filigree and tiny stars. Four crossed brooms run diagonally toward the edges of the circle, each flanked by a flag in red and gold, green and gold, blue and gold, or black and yellow. Between them sit dark studded balls and red leather ones, evenly spaced, with a small trophy at every compass point.
The border is where the piece turns quiet and rich. Deep burgundy carries a chain of mini winged snitches and slim golden goal hoops, edged with a thin gold line. Six diameters are available, from 80 cm (31.5″) to 180 cm (70.9″), with 100, 120, 140 and 160 cm in between. Choose 80 or 100 cm under a desk chair or beside a bed, where the snitch stays close to eye level. The 120 and 140 cm sizes suit a reading nook or a kids' corner. At 160 or 180 cm the design becomes a round area rug for the center of a seating area, and the burgundy border ring has room to breathe. Smaller sizes also work well as an accent rug by a bookshelf.
