Jinbe stands at the center of this One Piece round rug with his arms crossed: a calm blue wall of a man in a saffron kimono patterned with black-and-white diamonds, a red cape over his shoulders and a purple sash at his waist. The artwork is laid out for the circle, with curling waves hugging him, whale sharks sitting at the diagonals, and coral and ship wheels repeating out to the rim.
A circle softens a square room. It looks right beside a bed, under a desk chair or in front of an armchair, because the radial layout reads the same from every side. Nobody has to turn it to find Jinbe upright.
The Design: Ornamental Tide Ring
The art borrows from painted tile and carpet ornament, then fills it with the sea. Scrolling leaves and small blossoms wrap around cresting white waves, and a scalloped frame pulls the eye straight to the Knight of the Sea. The palette is deep navy, cobalt and cream, warmed by coral red and saffron gold. Jinbe's blue skin sits against pale foam, and the red sun emblem on his chest is the one small spark in the middle.
