This Sword Art Online round rug lays the whole scene out for the circle, with the swordsman dead center and every emblem wrapping around him like a stained-glass window. The palette stays strictly black, bone cream and cold blue-gray.
A circle behaves differently on a floor than a rectangle does. It softens the hard corners of a square room, tucks neatly under a desk chair and gives a gaming corner a clear center of gravity. Here that center is a character who already looks like he is guarding the space.
The Design: Ink and Ice Tilework
Instead of a bright anime poster, this piece borrows the look of old ceramic tilework. The ring around Kirito is built from arched cartouches, each holding one emblem: a floating castle on a cloud bank, crossed swords, a winged crest, an ornate key, a crescent moon and an empty black coat.
