Shanks sits at the heart of this One Piece round rug, red hair swept back, a black cloak slung over one shoulder and his hand resting on the hilt of a sword. A gold sun glows behind him through a crimson sky, and the whole piece is laid out for the circle, with scrollwork spreading outward ring by ring.
A circle behaves differently from a rectangle on the floor. It softens the corners of a square room, settles under a desk chair without fighting the furniture, and gives the spot beside a bed a clear focal point. No edges to line up. Just a calm shape that draws the eye inward, exactly where this design wants it.
The Design: Ships, Waves and Crimson
Think of an ornate Persian carpet, then give it a pirate crew. The captain sits inside a lobed, gold-edged frame, and around him four panels show red-sailed ships riding blue-and-white swells. At the top and bottom a skull flag with a scarred eye marks his crew, while crossed sabres fill the red diamonds on the left and right.
