Tetsuo stands dead center in his torn scarlet cape, cyborg arm hanging at his side, as psychic rings ripple behind him on this Akira round rug. A navy mandala of red-and-white capsules, satellites, mechanical hands and rubble surrounds him, and the artwork is laid out for the circle so every motif radiates evenly to the border.
A circle breaks up the hard lines of a square desk setup. Under a gaming chair it works as a chair mat with real character, and the ornate red rim frames the floor like stained glass.
The Design: Capsules and Cyborg Steel
This piece borrows the logic of a Persian medallion and fills it with Neo-Tokyo debris. Deep navy carries the background while crimson cape fragments and silver satellites mirror the central figure. Unlike the Kaneda bike designs in our Akira rugs, nothing here moves fast. It is all symmetry and menace.
Tetsuo on the Floor
The round area rug has a soft plush low-pile surface that lets chair casters roll without snagging. Beneath it, a non-slip rubber backing grips hardwood, tile and laminate. It is machine washable on a gentle cold cycle; air-dry it afterwards. Dye-sublimation printing sets the reds and navies into the fibers.
