This Gundam round rug puts the white-and-crimson Unicorn at the center of a starfield, with red light lines fanning out behind it like a halo. The artwork is laid out for the circle: a scalloped navy panel holds the mobile suit, and rings of gold, red and blue ornament close around it. Tiny space colonies and drifting moons sit in medallions all the way around the edge.
A circle suits this piece because the composition is already radial. Under a desk chair it reads as a framed emblem. Beside a bed or in front of a shelf of model kits, it softens the corners of a square room and gives the eye one clear place to land.
The Design: Persian Carpet Meets Space
The idea here is a collision of two traditions. The border and filler borrow from ornate Persian carpets and illuminated manuscripts, with gold scrollwork, narrow diamond bands and winged emblems repeating in a steady rhythm. Inside that frame, the Unicorn stands with its gold V-fin catching the light and a long shield held at its side.
