The range splits into two families. Rectangular designs, many labeled as chair mats, are full illustrated scenes with backgrounds and borders. Shaped designs drop the background and follow the outline of one Pokémon in a specific pose.

Pikachu Rugs and the Kanto Starters

Looking for a Pikachu rug? All rectangular Pokémon area rug designs come in five sizes:

Shaped rugs work differently. Because each one is cut to the outline of the artwork, it comes in four sizes, and the exact dimensions depend on the shape: a wide pose such as a flying Lugia is broader than it is tall, while a sitting Eevee is closer to square. Across the collection, shaped rugs range from about 60 x 90 cm at the smallest to 160 x 180 cm at the largest, and a few tall designs reach 120 x 240 cm. For any area rug, leave roughly 18 to 24 inches of bare floor around it so the room does not feel crowded. Under a desk chair, pick a rectangular design big enough that all wheels stay on it when you push back; 2.6 x 3.9 ft is a sensible minimum.

Standard vs Premium Pokémon Rugs

Each design comes in two quality levels with identical artwork; what changes is thickness, texture and backing.

• Standard Level: a lightweight 5 mm rug with a shiny velvet surface that shows color and fine linework clearly. The faux leather non-slip backing grips the floor, and this is the version we recommend under a desk chair because wheels roll smoothly over it.
• Premium Level: a softer, cushioned 7 mm rug with a plush surface that feels good under bare feet. It has a natural cotton anti-slip backing and is the better pick for bedrooms, living rooms and kids' rooms.

Every rug is printed with HD sublimation, a process that bonds the ink into the fibers rather than leaving a layer on top, so the image will not crack or peel as you walk on it. The inks are UV-resistant, though it still helps to keep the rug out of long stretches of strong direct sun. Reinforced stitched edges resist fraying and curling, and the non-slip backing holds on hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl, concrete and low-pile carpet. Non-toxic, skin-safe inks make the rugs suitable for nurseries and playrooms. All rugs are intended for indoor use only.

Caring for Your Pokémon Rug

• Vacuum on a low setting or simply shake the rug out.
• Blot spills with a damp cloth as soon as they happen; do not rub.
• For a deeper clean, hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent and let it air dry flat.
• Skip bleach, harsh chemicals and tumble drying, and never iron the printed side.
• Rotate the rug occasionally so wear stays even.
• The rug ships folded; any creases relax on their own within a few days.

Your rug is made to order once you check out. Most orders are produced within 1 to 3 business days and arrive within 5 to 12 days depending on where you live, and you receive tracking by email. Since every rug is printed for your specific order, returns are accepted within 14 days for shipping damage or a manufacturing defect, but not for a change of mind.

Are these official Pokémon rugs?

No. These are original fan-inspired designs created by Padloom and printed on our own rugs. They are not produced or endorsed by Nintendo, Game Freak or The Pokémon Company.

Can I use a shaped Pokémon rug under my desk chair?

We recommend a rectangular design in the Standard Level for chairs. Shaped rugs have irregular edges, so chair wheels can roll off the outline. Choose 2.6 x 3.9 ft or larger.

How do I wash my Pokémon rug?

By hand. Spot clean spills with a damp cloth, and for a full clean hand wash in cold water with mild detergent, then air dry flat. Do not tumble dry.

Will the rug slide on hardwood or tile?

No. The Standard Level has a faux leather non-slip backing and the Premium Level has a natural cotton anti-slip backing, and both are made to grip hard floors and low-pile carpet.
