Steven Universe Rugs

A Steven Universe rug brings the soft pinks, ocean blues and glowing gemstones of Beach City into your room, with original fan-inspired artwork of Steven, the Crystal Gems, Lion and the Diamonds. Every rug in this collection is made to order in five rectangular sizes from 2 x 3 ft to 5 x 7 ft. You can choose a smooth velvet Standard surface that keeps the pastel colors bright or a softer, thicker Premium plush, and both have a non-slip backing that keeps the rug where you put it.

The show is known for its gentle storytelling, its music and a color palette that feels warm rather than loud, which makes it one of the easiest fandoms to work into everyday décor. Below you will find all ten designs, a size guide, the difference between Standard and Premium, room ideas and practical care advice.

Steven Universe Rug Designs in the Collection

The collection has ten designs, grouped here by the side of the story they come from: the Crystal Gems who protect Earth, the Homeworld Gems who arrive as rivals and later become friends, and a couple of Beach City favorites.

Steven and the Crystal Gems

The Steven Shield Rug centers on the pink, rose-patterned shield Steven learns to summon, a natural symbol of the series' protective, kind-hearted spirit. It pairs beautifully with the Rose Quartz Sword Rug, which takes the sword left behind by his mother as its focus. Order the two together if you want a matching set for siblings, or one for the bedroom and one for the playroom.

The Garnet Crystal Gem Rug celebrates the calm, sunglasses-wearing leader of the team, a great fit for fans who love her quiet confidence and her fusion story. The Pearl Ballet Rug leans into Pearl's graceful, dance-like way of moving and fighting, which suits a lighter, more elegant room. Together these four designs cover the heart of the original team.

Homeworld Gems and the Diamonds

The Pink Diamond Rug is one of the most striking designs in the range, built around the Diamond whose story reshapes the whole series. Pink-loving fans who want a bold statement piece usually start here.

The Peridot Tech Rug gives the tech-obsessed Homeworld engineer a design full of personality, perfect for a desk area or a gaming setup. The Lapis Lazuli Wings Rug features Lapis with her water wings, a cool blue design that works well in a bedroom or a calm reading corner. The Spinel Heartbreaker Rug brings in the playful, heart-themed antagonist introduced in the movie, a fun choice for fans who have followed the story all the way through.

Beach City Favorites: Lion and Cookie Cat

The Lion Guardian Rug features Steven's big pink lion, the loyal and mysterious companion who always shows up at the right moment. It is one of the most kid-friendly designs in the collection and makes a cozy spot beside a bed.

The Cookie Cat Cosmos Rug celebrates the cat-shaped ice cream sandwich Steven adores in the very first episode, set against a starry backdrop. It is a sweet, slightly silly design that works in a playroom, a dorm or a kitchen-adjacent nook where a bit of humor is welcome.

How to Pick Between the Designs

If you are unsure where to start, let the room's colors decide. Warm pink designs such as Pink Diamond, Lion Guardian, Steven Shield and Rose Quartz Sword sit nicely with blush, cream and light wood. Cooler designs like Lapis Lazuli Wings and Pearl Ballet suit blue, gray or white rooms, while Peridot Tech and Spinel Heartbreaker bring more energy to a desk corner or a teen room. When the rug is a gift, think about the character the person talks about most: almost every fan has a favorite Gem, and a rug built around that character tends to mean more than a general design. Fans drawn to the show's bright, dreamlike worlds often enjoy our Adventure Time rugs as well.

Steven Universe Rug Sizes

All ten designs are rectangular and come in five sizes. Choose based on where the rug will sit and how much floor you want to cover.

For a balanced room, leave roughly 18 to 24 inches of bare floor between the rug and the walls. If you are placing the rug under a desk chair, make sure all the wheels stay on it when you roll back; 2.6 x 3.9 ft or larger covers most setups.

Standard vs Premium: Choosing the Right Feel

Both quality levels use the same print and both have a non-slip backing. The difference is how thick and soft the rug feels.

• Standard Level: a lightweight 5 mm rug with a shiny velvet surface that shows the show's pastel colors and fine detail clearly. It has a faux leather non-slip backing and is our recommendation under a desk chair, because the wheels roll smoothly over it.
• Premium Level: a softer, cushioned 7 mm rug with a plush surface that feels good under bare feet and for sitting on the floor. It has a natural cotton anti-slip backing and is the best match for bedrooms, living rooms and kids' rooms.

Room Ideas for a Steven Universe Cartoon Rug

Kids' Rooms and Playrooms

Steven Universe is a show about kindness and friendship, so it fits a child's room naturally. The Lion Guardian or Steven Shield design in 3.3 x 5 ft with the Premium plush gives kids a soft spot to play. The inks are non-toxic and skin-safe, so these rugs are a fine choice for nurseries and playrooms too. For more designs sized for younger fans, take a look at our kids room rugs.

Pastel Bedrooms

The collection's pinks, lavenders and soft blues work well with white or light wood furniture, fairy lights and pastel bedding. Pink Diamond or Pearl Ballet beside the bed adds color without overwhelming the room.

Art Desk or Creative Studio

Many fans of the show draw, paint or make music themselves. A Standard velvet rug under the desk chair protects the floor from wheel marks, and a design like Peridot Tech or Lapis Lazuli Wings adds personality to a workspace where you spend hours. To match the desk to the floor, our Steven Universe mouse pads bring the same pastel mood up to your keyboard.

Living Room and Dorm

A 5 x 7 ft design anchors a sofa area, and a 4 x 6 ft rug covers the open floor of most dorm rooms. The rugs ship folded and are light to carry, which makes them easy to bring along when you move.

Printing, Durability and Safety

Each rug is printed with HD sublimation, so the ink is bonded into the fibers instead of sitting on top, and the design will not crack or peel. UV-resistant inks keep colors steady in normal daylight, though you should still avoid long direct sun exposure. Reinforced stitched edges prevent fraying and curling. The non-slip backing grips hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl, concrete and low-pile carpet. The inks are non-toxic and skin-safe, and the rugs are intended for indoor use only.

How to Care for Your Steven Universe Rug

• Vacuum regularly on a low setting, or shake the rug out outdoors.
• Blot spills with a damp cloth as soon as they happen; do not rub.
• For a full clean, hand wash with cold water and a mild detergent, then lay the rug flat to air dry.
• Keep away from bleach, harsh chemicals and tumble dryers, and never iron the printed surface.
• Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears evenly.

Your rug will arrive folded. Light creases are normal and relax within a few days once the rug is laid flat.

Shipping and Returns

Every rug is made to order. Most orders are produced in 1 to 3 business days and arrive within 5 to 12 days depending on your location, with tracking details sent by email. Since each rug is printed for your order, returns are accepted within 14 days for shipping damage or a defect, but not for a change of mind.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these official Steven Universe rugs?

No. These are original fan-inspired designs created by Padloom and printed on our own rugs. They have no connection to the show's creators or network.

What size Steven Universe rug works for a kid's room?

The 3.3 x 5 ft size fits beside a twin bed and leaves floor space around it. For a larger playroom, 4 x 6 ft gives more room to sit and play.

Can I put the rug under a desk chair?

Yes. Choose the Standard Level in 2.6 x 3.9 ft or larger. The velvet surface lets the wheels roll easily and the faux leather backing keeps the rug from shifting.

How should I wash it?

By hand only. Spot clean spills with a damp cloth, and when needed, hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent and air dry flat. Do not tumble dry.

Will the rug slip on hardwood?

No. Both versions have an anti-slip backing made for hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl and low-pile carpet. A rug pad is optional for extra cushioning.
