My son is obsessed with Yu-gi-oh, and so we were both excited to find this rug - which isn't too over-the-top, but more of a subtle nod to his interests. The rug itself feels great. Very happy with the product!

In Detail
Product Description
Stark black-and-white panels are stacked edge to edge on this Akira manga mouse pad, a collage that jumps from explosive chases to tense, quiet frames in the streets of Neo-Tokyo. Printed as an Akira manga desk mat, the monochrome linework spreads across your whole workspace like an open page from the original comic.
This is the pick for readers who discovered the story on paper first, for manga collectors with full shelves and for minimalist setups where color would feel like noise. Ink-heavy art also pairs well with black, white or gray keyboards.
Why fans love an Akira manga mouse pad
Before the famous film, Akira was a sprawling manga that ran for years and told a far larger story than any adaptation could hold. Its dense, cinematic panels, filled with collapsing buildings, speeding bikes and wide-eyed teenagers caught in forces beyond them, helped define how cyberpunk looks on paper. Many artists still point to its architectural detail and kinetic layouts as a turning point for the medium. A panel collage honors that source directly: it celebrates the pacing and ink work instead of a single screenshot, so it speaks to readers who know how much happens between the frames.
Picking an Akira manga desk mat size
- S (11.8″ × 15.7″): a few panels framed neatly around your mouse.
- M (11.8″ × 27.6″): a narrow format that fits a tenkeyless keyboard and mouse.
- XXXL (19.7″ × 39.4″): shows off the full collage across a wide desk.
- L chair mat (47.2″ × 70.9″): generous floor coverage beneath a desk chair on hard surfaces.
Inked for daily use
The face of this Akira manga desk mat is a micro-woven polyester cloth that keeps tracking accurate for optical and laser mice alike. A 3 mm natural rubber backing prevents slipping, precision-stitched edges hold up against fraying, and the HD print keeps fine black lines sharp against white space.
Keep a damp cloth handy for coffee drips on the white areas. For a thorough clean, a gentle machine wash in cold or lukewarm water with mild detergent works well, after which the mat should rest flat while it air dries. Bleach would ruin the contrast, dryers warp the base and an iron must never touch the panels. Production happens after you order and takes 1–3 business days; shipping adds 2–5 business days.
Flip through all our Akira mouse pads and desk mats, browse the wider range of anime mouse pads, or carry the ink to your floor with Akira area rugs. For a manga reader, an Akira manga mouse pad is the next best thing to another volume on the shelf.
