My son is obsessed with Yu-gi-oh, and so we were both excited to find this rug - which isn't too over-the-top, but more of a subtle nod to his interests. The rug itself feels great. Very happy with the product!

In Detail
Product Description
Two small figures sit at the edge of a vast city on this Akira sunset mouse pad, watching the skyline glow under a crimson sky. Across an Akira sunset desk mat, deep reds, cool blues and burning orange light wash over towers and shadow alike, creating a scene that feels quiet on the surface and heavy underneath.
Choose it if you love the reflective side of cyberpunk, if your room runs on warm evening tones, or if you want anime art that reads more like a film still than a poster.
The mood behind the Akira sunset mouse pad
Akira is remembered for explosions and chases, yet its stillest moments hit just as hard. Neo-Tokyo is a city rebuilt on top of ruin, gleaming and fragile at the same time, and its young characters live with the sense that everything could collapse again. A pair of silhouettes watching the sun go down over that skyline captures the brief calm between storms, the friendship and uncertainty that drive the story. That contrast between beauty and looming chaos is a big reason the film still influences artists decades later, and it gives this artwork a weight that rewards a second look.
Choosing your Akira sunset desk mat size
- TCG Mat (14″ × 24″): a compact canvas for the mouse or tabletop card play.
- L (11.8″ × 31.5″): a slim strip that slides under keyboard and mouse on narrower desks.
- XXL (23.6″ × 35.4″): keeps the sky tall and the city wide across a roomy desk.
- S chair mat (31.5″ × 47.2″): guards wood or tile beneath a smaller office chair.
Crafted for long evenings at the desk
Micro-woven polyester cloth makes up the top, giving optical and laser mice a smooth, predictable path. Below it, a 3 mm natural rubber base stops creeping, the edges are precision-stitched to resist fraying, and the HD print preserves the gradient from red to blue.
Lift light stains with a damp cloth before they set. When it is time for a real wash, use a gentle machine cycle with cold or lukewarm water and a mild detergent, and dry the mat flat in the open air. Leave bleach out, keep the dryer off and do not iron across the sunset. Every Akira sunset desk mat is made to order, finished within 1–3 business days and delivered in 2–5 business days.
Discover more of Neo-Tokyo in our Akira desk mats and mouse pads, wander through our anime mouse pads, or let the sunset continue onto the floor with Akira area rugs. An Akira sunset mouse pad brings a little golden hour to every work session.
