This Akira round rug sets Kaneda's red motorcycle inside a Persian-carpet medallion, caught mid-slide in front of a neon Neo-Tokyo skyline and a blood-red sun. The artwork is laid out for the circle, so the bike holds the center while every ornament repeats around it like spokes on a wheel. Navy, crimson and antique gold carry the palette.
A circle softens the corners of a square room, tucks under a desk chair and gives a gaming corner a clear focal point. The red light trails run toward the edge, keeping the eye moving around the circle.
The Design: Neo-Tokyo in Filigree
Akira posters usually go for raw speed. This piece borrows the grammar of an old Persian rug instead. A scalloped frame holds the bike on a dark road, while four smaller arches repeat the skyline in cyan and magenta.
