Product Description
This Death Note round rug puts Ryuk dead center, wings spread wide, a red apple raised in one gray hand and that yellow-eyed grin aimed straight at you. The artwork is laid out for the circle, with a cream damask field in the middle and a black border ringed by apples. Skulls, chains, crescent moons and black notebooks repeat in a mirrored pattern around the shinigami.
A circle has no corners to crop, so every detail lands. Under a desk it frames Ryuk like a medallion. Beside a bed, it softens the straight lines of a square room.
The Design: Gothic Damask Frame
Most Ryuk art is a portrait on a flat backdrop. This one borrows from old engraved ornament instead. Feather-shaped scrolls curl outward from his shoulders like acanthus leaves, and the wings echo that rhythm so the figure grows out of the pattern rather than sitting on it. Four notebooks sit on the diagonals, crescent moons fill the gaps, and a small skull medallion marks each compass point.
The palette is tight: bone cream, charcoal black and one deep crimson that shows up in the apples, the thin outer ring and the fleur-de-lis under his boots. Ryuk himself is drawn in slate grays with a pale face, a feathered collar and a chain belt with a skull buckle. Look closer and you will spot what look like bitten apple cores in the red side frames, a quiet joke for fans.
